About the event
Curated with early-career counsellors, social workers, youth workers, and case workers in mind, this 2-day workshop is designed to equip you with essential knowledge and skills to support individuals experiencing common mental health challenges such as depression and anxiety.
Through a blend of theory and hands-on practice, participants will learn how to identify symptoms, use basic screening tools (PHQ-9, GAD-7), and apply core counselling techniques in an effective manner. Interactive elements include case discussions, guided role-plays, peer feedback, and coaching.
Over the two days, participants will:
Build a working understanding of depression and anxiety in adult clients
Use PHQ-9 and GAD-7 effectively, and identify risk safely
Practise core counselling micro-skills - empathy, active listening, reflection
